Therefore, I decided to do all of the installation myself manually. Unfortunately, when I tried using them it was hard for me to understand where everything was going and how things “magically” worked. However, I’ve heard great things about Apple, plus I have an iPhone, so I thought… why not? The rest of this post details how I set up my new MacBook Pro for my development stack including Apache, MySQL, PHP, phpMyAdmin, etc. The problem for me is that I’ve always used Windows. The rest of the development team was using Mac and as of this writing we’ll be using OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. I recently started a new job and was given the opportunity to choose my work computer.
